Geithner – Just Another One

In corruption, obama on January 15, 2009 at 12:53 am

Obama picked Tim Geithner to be Secretary of the Treasury—talk about a bad vetting process.  has a slight tax problem. Namely, he’s not paying them – $42,702. Of all things for the new Secretary of Treasury to have problems with—taxes? Amazing. Could it have been an honest mistake? If so, then at worst he’s an idiot (who is about to handle $1 trillion of our money)

Geithner explained he was unaware he was technically considered self-employed while working at the IMF, an international organization that does not pay an employer share of Social Security and Medicare taxes.

He repaid about $43,000 in taxes and interest – some of it after an IRS audit, the rest after Obama transition vetters brought the arrears to his attention.

“All of his taxes have now been paid in full, and at no time was there any intention on Mr. Geithner’s part to avoid taxes,” a transition source said.

Oh it was all just a mistake, what’s the harm? I’m already accustomed to Obama putting these dirtbags to work, so I’m not even going down that path again. No, this time I just want to know where are all of those people who crucified Joe The Plumber about his $1,182.98 of outstanding personal income tax? Oh yeah, that’s right, Joe Wurzelbacher’s not a liberal, a democrat, nor a socialist – so he’s bad. I just hope that if I make a mistake on my taxes, somebody lets me know so I can just pay them off and laugh about it – no wait, I’m not a liberal, a democrat, nor a socialist either. Oh well.
