President Obama signed an executive order Monday requiring the Environmental Protection Agency to reconsider an application by California to set more stringent auto emissions and fuel-efficiency standards than required by federal law. If the EPA grants a waiver allowing California to set its own emissions standards, the nation’s largest state will be allowed to require automakers to produce trucks and cars that get better mileage than what is required under the current national standard. Thirteen other states could take similar action.
What does this mean? It means that the environmentalist wackos won out over unionized labor. Obama has just put more nails in Detroit’s and the Big Three Automaker’s coffins.
With the automakers struggling to build cars that they’re having trouble selling now, to stay in business they will be forced to upgrade and retool manufacturing facilities. The price of American cars is going to skyrocket, fewer will sell, and the industry will flounder and die.
What about all of those employees, union members no doubt, who voted For Obama and the democrats? For it was he, Obama, who was destined to save their livlihood. What is going to happen to the blue city of Detroit, where they aspire to name streets and parks after their president?
Well Detroit and union workers, it appears that after getting into bed with both you and the environmentalists, Obama has decided to kick you out of bed and keep the other girl. I hope that you find the money that you ponied up during the campaign to be very well spent. I’ll bet you guys wish you had Bush back now.
